    Hey,

I moved to Honduras for work last month and the internet option i chose was a company called TIGO, which issued me a 3G USB modem. Upon inserting into the USB port, the modem automatically installs some drivers, then I install the connection software called Internet Movil. It then automatically installs more driver software and I can use the internet.

The problem comes when I remove the USB device, or shut down the computer with the device still in the USB port. If i plug it back in later, it attempts to install the driver software again and stalls. I have to manually shut down the computer, restart it, completely uninstall Internet Movil, restart, plug the modem in again, let it install the drivers and then install Internet Movil again.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate on a Sony Vaio F Series notebook. My two roommates (one has a Dell with Windows 7 Professional and the other has a Macbook Pro) have no problems simply unplugging and plugging in later. I've been through this routine described above about 7 times and I have no idea what the problem is. I tried "safely removing" the hardware, but I get no indication that it is safe to remove after I click "eject CD Drive F: Internet Movil."

    Please help.

Look for some kind of setting in its device manager that will allow you to not have it automatically load its software on start up. This may not be possible. Exactly what HUAWEI model is it. You can also attempt a call to the carrier to see if they can help you resolve the issue. Seeing how it works on two other computers and you have a Vaio, you may just have to live with it. I have a USB720 from Verizon and it does not play well with my Vaio. It had problems with this laptop on XP Pro and now 7 Pro. It works fine on three other computers that are not a Sony Vaio. When I need it on my Vaio I set it up as a dial up. I do not know how you would do this on your device. Mine does not load the drivers from the device.
