I recently bought the hp zd8230us that has window xp media center 2005 in it. I have all of my wireless connections working (internet, etc) through a linksys broadband router. I have set up my media center and it works with directv satellite signal however when I try to download the guide, it tells me that my internet connection failed and gives me an error code 13. Can ANYONE help me figure out what to do to fix this? My internet connect is through direcway satellite and works just fine for surfing the web, it just won't let me download the media guide. I would GREATLY appreciate any ideas that anyone can give me. I hope I posted this in the right spot.....

Huh, do you have a firewall blocking the connection possibly? You'll probably want to contact the proivder for that information since it might be trying to connect so backwards way. If you can get online, it should work.

I have tried disabling the firewall and that didn't work....I learned on a couple of support forums last night that it's a possiblity that since direcway just did an upgrade on their DW6000 modem, it may no longer be compatible with media center 2005 for some of the downloads. Everything else works fine with the internet on it, I can get the TV channels and it even brings up the different guide subscribers for me to choose from, it just won't finish the download so I know the internet connection is working on it, it just doesn't complete the process. I sent a note off to direcway and they sent me back some things to try (changing the proxy server etc)which is better than what they have been telling other subscribers....that it's just not compatible and probably won't be....I'll try the changes later and see if they work.
