Hey, I have a gateway M-6752. It works great and I love it....except for one little problem, wireless networks.

I'm pretty sure it might be a vista problem but I don't know. Every single time I cold boot my laptop my wireless is not turned on by default. Everytime I have to click the network icon in the tray and click Diagnose and Repair. After it is done scanning for a problem (pft...it shouldn't even have to), it tells me that the wireless is turned off and needs to be turned on.

This is dumb because this particular laptop has TWO external buttons to turn wireless on and a light showing that I wireless is on. Yet, everytime I start vista I have to "Diagnose and Repair" and have vista prompt me to turn wireless on.

The laptop has two wireless on/off buttons?...hmm..anyhow, I think you should go into the laptop's BIOS and make sure that the Wireless Card is set to "Enabled".

On the search bar, type services, then click o services and check that all the services related to the wireless network are set to automatically.

    1. Did u try my suggestion in post 4?

    2. Are u certain that the "Wireless light" on the laptop actually means it's enabled?..meaning..some laptops the wireless light would be "on" orange but that means it's in the disabled mode..when u switch it, it would turn blue to show it's now enabled. Make sure u have it enabled and not disabled...not because a light is on means it's enabled....

    3. I would want to believe that wirelessman is talking about the DNS and DHCP Client Services...make sure they are set to automatic and started...

Yes, that what I meant, DNS, DHCP, any service related with the client wireless network.
