I was trying to figure out problem myself but after couple hours of surfing the net and tweaching setting i decided to give up.
So here is the problem: my download through wireless connection are much slower than they have to (dl 20/ul 20) though it should be 100/50. Anyhow I use ADSL2 wireless router and I have a/b/g integrated intel wireless card. The card functions properly as I tested it with other routers and its close to 100% speed.
So when I start to download with normal save target as, and the speed reaches (I try 100% checked for high speed downloads) 20kb/s even the browsing becomes very slow. However, if I use download accelerator such as DAP the same download goes upto 100kb. and my p2p program also gets stuck at 20/20 though same downloads were going upto 500 on different router and internet connection yesterday.
Please HELP before I apply a method of smashing to my router.

Oh and I forgot to mention that when I plug the lan cable into router and into the pc goes to maximum speed. Than I unplug all the cable and try with wireless and its SLOOOOOOW!
and its just 2 meters away!
the easiest solution is to plug a cable of course but may be someone know another way out of this? Please....

I prefer sacrifical burning of rebellious electronic devices...and I do it so the other devices in the house can see it happen! It usually fixes the problems for a long time. ;)

It's a holiday so there might be a bit before help arrives just thought I would try and make ya feel a tad better. ;)

Oh, one suggestion is this...connect your system to the router via a network cable and see if that solves the speed issue. If it does the you know it's the wifi setup. If it does not then it's either a router setting (like an incorrect DNS server setting) or a problem with the service itself that you would be able to fixx and will need to call your service provider about.

Oh, it might help to provide a few more details. Stuff like what router, what wifi card and what service provider...those things will help someone pick a direction to look at first.

    Good luck!

oops...you did give more details...sorry for glossing over some of them.

Since your system works fine with other routers and, I am assuming, different service provider. It sounds as if it's the the router wifi settings. Have you tried resetting the router to all the default settings? Before that make sure you have your providers setup details handy.

oh, here is one possibility. Some wifi routers that are "g" routers do not do well if any "b-mode" only protocol devices try and access the network. You might ant to be sure your card is set to the default for your router. Or even set them both to the same option.

Oh yes I do and just to let you know that I followed your advice and was running crazy with my laptop across the apartment just to check if there is anything interfering. And there was not and it is not an issue in this case.

You have said that it works fine without the router in place. My suggestion is to blow the settings in the router back to factory. And do a clean setup. I would clone the mac address of the pc used to setup the account into it. I would NOT use and filtering, word or MAC. Most all routers are not design to be a proxy server, so word filter should not be done.

Once the basic setup has been done check to see if your wired speed is working correctly before proceeding to the wireless.

Make sure you Change the routers Default PW. The newest hijack is routers for users not changing the default pw. They hack the DNS server so everything is routers through their servers.
