    Hi,

Just started up cable internet (went w/ DSL in the past).

I bought an SB6120 modem. One mac, 2 PCs and a PS3 in my network. Ok, a Wii too. Any recommendations for a good router?

I've heard that the Cisco chipset doesn't work well with a mixed network for some reason.

    tcp/ip is tcp/ip

shouldn't make a lick of difference.

10/100/1000 auto negotiation is another thing entirely though.

That's pretty much what I thought, but I've been out of the game for a while. Still, any recs for a good router?

Good single band router for reasonable amount of money would be Netgear WNR3500L
It costs some $70 and sports 2.4GHz 300mbps Wi-Fi, 480MHz Broadcom CPU, 64MB RAM, gigabit switch and USB port. It offers good performance with stock firmware and is supported by 3rd party firmwares like DD-WRT.

Unless you have very specific needs that it doesn't meet or need a simultaneous dual-band router (and are prepared to pay $120 for it) it's probably the best one to buy.
