I use bellsouth... it's rated one of the best out there... On 1.5 megs dsl, I get around 155 kbps download speed.

Ah, you weren't talking about the provider...

Will I notice a big difference in games, or would I hafta connect to one with fat internet pipes as well?

Web pages shouldn't load much faster. I went from a 1Mb cable connection to a 6Mb cable connection. Web pages don't load noticably faster, downloads went from 70-90kbs to 300-600kbs depending on time of day and how I'm connected to the router (wired/wireless). Streaming video and games also run better with lower latency and virtually no lag.

well a 1.5MegaBIT equals about 175KiloBYES a sec (8 bits = 1 byte). The average web page is less than 200 kilobyte. So most pages should load in 1 sec. maybe half a sec now. How fast can you read? downloading large files and straming files will be smoother. But if your the only user in your household and you dont game online or download alot of large files, its mostly a waste of money. But you will get to brag to all your friends that you have more bandwidth :p
