    Hi,

I have both a wire-less and a wired connection. When the wire-less card and the wired connection is connected to the router at the same time it seems that the wire-less connection is given higher priority. Most of the time that doesnt matter, but when playing games the wire-less makes me lose connection to the host. So, everytime i forget to turn off the wire-less I will be disconnected. Is there a way to give the wired connection higher priority and making it the first option when playing war III? It's so annoying when I forget to turn the wire-less off =/

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

well it depends on your Wireless card and/or driver , you should go to device manager and right click the card -> preferences , there you should see few options , one of them is "Disable upon LAN connection" or something like that , if you don't have that option look for a newer driver , or post your card brand here might be easier for me to point you.

    What router?

Check your Router for QoS settings (Quality of Service). You should be able to set the bandwidth/priorities from there.

Thanks for your answers :) Unfortunately I did not manage to solve it yet.

I did not find any disable option so I installed the latest driver from my manufacturers ftp. Still nothing about disabling though. In the device manager the card is called Atheros AR5008X Wireless network adapter, but Zepto calls it Zepto_Wpro_BGN_-_300mbit.

I have a RangeMax NEXT Wireless-N (WNR834B v2). I tried the QoS and there is a possibility to set higher priority to a MAC-address or a LAN-port but I dont think that will solve the problem. Even though the wireless conn gets highest prio I doubt it will be enough. The problem is that the wireless is used at all and that cannot be set in the QoS (as far as I understand).

ok we have the same chipset based card , the following driver should work for you -

just choose the latest based on your OS.
I know since I installed this , whenever I plug my LAN cable it uses it for connection instead of the wireless.
