I am at boarding school in scotland and was wondering how to allow other applications in my computer to access the internet other than IE. To connect to the (strongly filtered) internet all I have to do is type in the WEP, then go to Tools> Internet Options> Connections> LAN Settings...> and then for the LAN Settings, I type 192.168.0.1 and port 8080 then OK. Then after I have restarted IE, It asks me for my username and password (which the school provided me with) I type them in, and then I'm connected to the internet. What I'm wondering is if I can configure other programs to connect also. Is there a program I can download that will make all programs that I run that try to connect to the internet be configured? Is there a program I can download that will automatically make all programs use those proxy settings and authentication? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks

I'm closing this thread. You need to contact your school if you have a problem with their data policies, not ask NBR to help you bypass them.
