I'm getting a new Asus laptop and was wondering, since it only has G enabled on it, do I need to get a "N" enabled router? Or does there superior range over the standard G routers make them an obvious choice? Because, I won't get any faster transfer speeds than standard G right?
    Thanks

An ARX G router will give you noticeably increased range over a standard G router even without a matching SRX card, you won't see 108kbps but you will get a bit of a range boost. It depends what you need. If you aren'y covering a very large area then maybe just a regular G router would be fine for you.
