    German notebook in US?

    I speak German and often watch German TV on the internet. But sometimes I am told the content cannot be shown outside of Germany, i.e. it recognizes that I am outside of Germany. If I bought a notebook in Germany, would that fake out the system? In other words, does the system focus on the computer, or actual geography?

    It focuses on the location of the IP address of the computer. The only way to 'fake out' the system is to use a proxy server, but I've never looked for one to mimic a Germany location so I'm not sure if one exists or not.

    Proxy connection, or use a VPN with an exit node in Germany.

    I'm a bit late to this thread... but for anyone with similar issues, I've used F-Secure VPN for a while now and I seriously can't fault it.
