A reoccuring problem with a wireless card on my gateway LT. It accepts the software but when you insert the card and reboot it locks on the windows xp startup page ( the little blue lites on the black screen). At first i got another card, no joy, then got another brand, same problem. A couple years ago i had someone loan me a wireless card (i was researching buying his airplane) and he hooked it up, but only after repeated trys. Obviously he knew what he was doin? (security guru for oil company in Houston) The jest is it seems most cards are a plug and play so my machine has been "tweeked" and now is on some kinda private orbit. Can anyone talk me down? Thanks...z

Im going to make one suggestion... goto start>right click on my computer> goto
manage>then scroll down to plug n play devices and see if thats on automatic... then goto udp tcp and make sure thats on automatic...

it would have helped if you had taken a screenshot of your services... so you could have reset them to factory default.. i would think something is either not enabled there, or something in your BIOs was tweaked.

"DH" thz for the look: the P&P device enumerator properties says its "working properly" I see no auto option. AS for the udp tcp im not sure of its location. Ive since returned the card but if i got a shot at correcting the problem ill get another. Any suggestions to what type would adapt better to the gateway M 305. Im just trying to reduce the revenue to Kinkos!
    thz....
