Hi All, My question is about a Gateway Solo 1450. It has the slot for a wireless card (which worked before) and now doesn't I bought a new card and made sure I had the correct drivers installed, But it says it's inactive.(WPC54Gv3) I am using a Linksys router (WRT54GX4) which my other laptops can connect to.
When the card is plugged in the lights flash on then go off. I also have a bluetooth card that powers up and stays on when installed. I have tried to reinstall the operating system and update all drivers with no success. Is there a bad board that the chip plugs into? Any ideas would be awesome as I've read your forums and learned much. Thanks in advance.

Are you sure its not just disabled? Try a different card or use a USB wireless stick to see if it works.

I borrowed a usb stick and that works fine. I have 3 notebook cards and they have all been verified in other laptops.
