I am beyond frustrated. I have an old P7805u, that I need to use for the size for a job. Unfortunately my ethernet drivers are seriously out of date and it won't even recognize i have a lan line plugged in. Gateway is absolutely no help (suprised anyone?) all they do is transfer me to someplace in India and want me to pay them an exorbinant amount to tell me where to find the drivers.

I'm begging and really I don't look good when I beg, please can someone point me to a true real site where I can simply get the ethernet drivers for my laptop?

    thanks :D

It's most likely not a driver problem. Ethernet is not like Wi-Fi, nothing has changes for years in this standard so even old drivers would work. That is unless you have no driver installed at all - check the device manage and see if the driver for the Ethernet card is installed or not, is the device working properly (lack of yellow triangle or an error code) and what is the Ethernet card in question.

Which OS do you have installed?

Is the ethernet controller a Marvell Yukon?
