    Gaming Ports and Connections Blocked, Internet Works

    Good afternoon,

    I recently moved onto a University-type campus where the connection blocks many games and gaming services. Before, all games worked perfectly.

    For some reason now, all the gaming ports are blocked now. I have gone to friends' houses where Steam and games like Diablo 3 and etc work perfectly fine, but my games will not.

    My only firewall is Microsoft Security Essentials and even after disabling it and the Windows Firewall, nothing changed.

    I'm completely at a loss.

    It likely has nothing to do with your computer but is blocked at a network infrastructure level. To make a long story short you probably can't do anything, you could try proxying everything or running on alternate ports but the easiest solution is just to install a cable modem in your dorm. I did this when I was in University (split 3 ways), it just makes your life easier than the proxying option.
