I just picked up the P-6831 and want to play online.

I am currently having trouble with my internet connection on my Model-B Linksys and am looking to upgrade to a faster router as I only get 1mbps right now.

Is the G model at 54mbps fast enough or should I go with the N model for 300mbps?

G should be enough for on-line gaming. It depends more on your internet connection, than the router you are using...

You need to confirm that your laptop or desktop supports draft-n type signal, or else it is worthless to upgrade to draft-n

It's the Gateway P-6831. We are going to be buying a new tower for the other computer.

Linksys - Ultra RangePlus Wireless-N Broadband Router with 4-Port Switch

Is that one that has issues?

How is the Linksys - RangePlus Enhanced Wireless-G Router with 4-Port Ethernet Switch along with a Linksys - RangePlus Enhanced Wireless-G Network USB 2.0 Adapter for our desktop?

go with g. first of all youll only get close to the 54mbps if your transfering on the network (well if your in the us) as most cable connections are only 6mbps. also g has a proven track record. all/most n-drafts out are prototypes.
