I just got a new hp tx2510us yesterday and im having some troubles right now after getting rid of some bloat ware and a little optimizing. Right now internet explorer is letting me surf the web an do what ever I want, but I can not get the internet to work with any thing else (aim, firefox, weather mod...). At first I thought it may have been something i deleted, which im pretty sure I did everything right, but the fact that IE works fine an nothing else does confuses me. I tried searching the forums an other sites but I didnt find any good help that treated my problem. Any tips or suggestions will be great, thanks :)

Do this on the DOS console, ipconfig/flushdns, and tell me the results.

Try looking at the IE setting to see what kind of proxy settings are there. Change all the other apps to use the same proxy settings.

ok new/different problem, I read around an some people said they had the same problem an that there anti-virus was causing the problem. So I uninstalled symantic anti-virus (provided by my university). After a restart now nothing will connect to the internet. I used a pen drive to update my network drivers (Realtek RTL8168C/8111C Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC Driver) but that changed nothing. Also under device manager there was a code 10 error for 6to4 adapter, but after reading some I guess that doesnt really matter  any other ideas b4 I try an start fresh? Just seems really strange how at first only IE would connect to the net, but as soon as i get rid of my anti-virus (still had my firewall on) nothing will connect to internet...

Well looks like im done. I tried using hp's recovery partition, but as soon as it started to wipe the drive an error came up (i didnt get the full error name cuz not thinking I clicked ok b4 I wrote it down). It then tried to restart, but was not able to an said "BOOTMGR IS MISSING"... So I then tried to recover the comp by using the hp recovery discs I made as soon as I turned on the pc for the first time. But as soon as it reached 100% of wiping process and was about to start installing all the stuff on the clean drive, I was given "error 1002" (which I think is the same error I got the first time). Tried once more an got the error again... unless any one has a miracle cure, looks like im returning it for a new one tomorrow. :(

Don't worry, we can always help here but we certainly can't repair broken cards :D

Let us know though, what was wrong with the laptop, we would love to know.
