I feel like this is a stupid question, and I'm overlooking something, but here goes!

I have a dd-wrt router that I use for a xbox adapter, desktop computer adapter, etc. I had it set to an ip address that I would remember, in case I needed to change anything. I have now moved, and in trying to set it back up, I can't access the user interface. I set my computer back to its old static ip, and tried every single ip address in my subnet, but nothing would come up.

I've configured these things several times, and I've never had a problem like this. I'd hit the IP address after a few tries. I've tried a couple of network scanners, but nothing will display the router. Is there a way I can resurrect this thing?

At the new place, changed the DHCP router to have the same info as the old one, and the bridging router works fine. But I'd still like to know how to get inside it...

can't you hard reset it manually and then reconfig it again?

Maybe? I will definitely consider trying that, but I was really hoping to avoid that. I'm not too sure what would happen if I did try it. I've spent too many hours learning networking and dd-wrt and fighting this router to brick it somehow. ah, well, the price of learning...

I'm not sure what you mean by "hard reset." Hold down the "reset" button and cycle the power? That would require knowing the ip address to tftp into it or something like that? (If it truly reset, it would go back to 192.168.1.1, I'm sure...)

On my linksys all you have to do to reset dd-wrt is hold down the reset button for 30 seconds. This will just revert dd-wrt back to it's default settings. then just set it back up as a wireless bridge.

Forum rules specifically prohibit the discussion of bypassing security measures. If you have physical access to the router, then just reset it. Otherwise if you do not have physical access to the router, we assume you are trying to crack it.
