I received my Killer 1103 card, and put it in my Lenovo Y500. It works flawless, but when I try to connect to a network (1 ESSID), which has a 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz band, then it will keep jumping from 2.4 to 5 GHz.

I've got the Killer Network Manager installed, which sees which band I use. When I'm lucky to stay on the 5 GHz for a few seconds, I can easily reach at least 60 Mbps down and up.
It would be nice to either force 5 GHz, or disable 2.4 GHz from time to time, so I can choose 5 at school and 2.4 at home.

    Thanks in advance

Your 2.4ghz band SSID and 5ghz band SSID should be different and different passwords.

In your router settings for the 2.4ghz radio is there a box that is checked that enables it?

    If so,remove it.

If you don't select the 2.4ghz SSID and enter your pass key you won't connect to it.

In your wireless card properties Advance Settings can you set a band preference or disable 2.4ghz?

What boxes are checked in Windows Network Connection Monitor?

As stated, the 5 GHz router is at school. I cannot disable anything in the router, nor change the SSID or password.

    I have these settings:

Not that I know of, a possible way is to find a wifi manager (maybe by the manufacturer) that can differentiate access point by their mac address so you can directly connect to the 5ghz one instead of letting Window pick the stronger signal one.
I know it is a pain when the wifi tricked to connect on a "good signal" 2.4 and performs worse due to others crowding it.

Last resort is to replace it with a Intel.

This driver doesn't seem to have this option visible but Atheros' drivers have a setting called "roaming policy"- if you can test modded drivers see what happens if you set roadmig policy to "very low". That will make the card less likely to switch to other networks even with better signal (to the point of course)

To add to what downloads said, some drivers just don't provide the setting you are looking for. There is no way to force a band with any Atheros adapter (rebranded or not as far as I know). Intel does allow you to set the preferred band, but it will switch if the signal gets too weak anyways.
