Well I have a desktop with a 500gb HD, and now the 1520 with a 160gb hd and I want to keep all of my files on my desktop. How do i connect to my desktop and transfer my files? Can i use an ethernet cable? I do not have a router.

Without a router you need to use a crossover (cat5e) cable, unless you have GigE on both pc's. You then need to turn on file and printer sharing on 1 of your units. Verify that the IP Address is in the same Subnet, and they are in the same work group. Vista and XP default to different work groups. When you connect the pc's together you may get a warning that you have limited access. This is because they do not see the www, so you can ignore the warning. Once the file sharing is setup, you should beable to access the files.
