External Hard Drive Solution

Is it possible to hook up an external to my 2Wire Gateway and access it wirelessly with my notebook? Or do I need to get a Netcenter type (ethernet) of external?

 

I think they make a notebook hard drive in a case with a wireless card on it. So you can access it with any PC. Can't think of the name right off hand.

They do make USB to LAN adapters. I don't know how reliable or functional other brands are, but avoid the dLink ones by all means. I have their di-624s router and it doesn't work. Their customer support on this product really sucks too.

yes they make a usb to lan adapter, i have one for my tivo, not sure how that would work on a external hd but eh

 

If your 2Wire Gateway has a free wired ethernet port, you can use this to bridge a couple of external USB drives onto your network:
