okay so here I am with my Dell e1505 (WinXP MCE Service Pack 2) of which I reformatted and seemingly installed all of the drivers. I have been using my college's wireless connection up until now, but now that I figure out that its is unreliable (keeps cutting me off), I decide I plug in my laptop with a ethernet/network cable I have lying around. And low and behold, after I plug it in the socket and to my laptop, it doesn't work.

So I wondered off to see if I have a driver for it...if the problem requires it.
I do have NIC connection thing in my control panel...but I cant seem to activate it. It specifically says its "off" without any option of me manually turning it on.

And yes my roommate with a wired desktop says the connection to our room works. So now I'm puzzled/fustrated by such a simple thing.
    Thanks in advance.
