Well I'm running my Lenovo t61 with XP here at my school's campus in my dorm and for some reason now, when I plug in my Ethernet cable into the port on the side of my laptop, I get no internet connection. Normally, like just last night and for the past 3 months, it just automatically connected as soon as I plugged it in. I don't think my cable is damaged. Could it be my port? I really have no idea. I'm using wireless internet now but it is quite slow. Any tips would be great. Sorry I can't give more detail on the problem.

If that doesn't work, contact the university tech support department. They may have enabled some sort of port security or done something else to the network that is stopping you from connecting.
