    Hi,

I bought a Toshiba Equium A200-1VO notebook yesterday and am having issues conncecting it to the WLAN set up at home...I've tried all the obvious things and need help!!!

The laptop will connect to the WLAN when the router is set to broadcast, but will not connect when it is set to not broadcast, despite the router being set to accept the laptop's MAC address, the correct SSID being entered and the windows vista settings having that little 'connect even when not broadcasting' box checked. Dad has a Toshiba Satellite A200 and that connects fine so I'm thinking I must have a setting different to him somehow, though I can't see anything obvious!!!

    Any ideas?!?! :)

Make sure you have the latest drivers, router and NB.

Does it connect on reboot with the SSID off?

    Does it work on repair?

if so, check your energy settings, some times they power down the wireless to save energy. There are also settings on how it behaves.

    Hiya,

Thanks for the reply! It doesn't work on repair or on reboot with SSID off - I've had a play around with the settings and it now seems to be acting like a rebellious teenager. I ask it to connect, it says something along the lines of 'no, i don't feel like it' and then 5 minutes later when i've decided i aren't bothered it decides to connect to the correct network...it's odd, but so long as it gets me online i don't really mind if it likes to mess around!!! Thanks for the help though, it's appreciated :-D
