Alright I just bought on of these babies for my laptop. Before i had a generic ar5001x mini pci card i got off ebay. I thought sweet! The range will be a lot better and the power should be a lot more. Well kinda is. The drivers i got from the engenius site worked but there were no power transmit options in the utility. I was confused. I then searched for more drivers on the ar5006x chipset. I found some and installed them, there i can see the power controls. It says i can go to 100 mw transmit power but it says always in current power level i am using 63mw transmit power. What did i do wrong here? Should i b e able to change transmit power to 100mw? I mean right now its only at 18 dbm/63 mw. The card is rated for 26 dbm. My specs:
    dell inspiron 5100
    2.8 p4
    7500 ati 16 mb
    80 gb 7200 rpm
    Engenius Senao 600mW EMP-8602+S
    512 mb of ram.
    xp home

The card will only use what it needs to maintain a good connection. Remember that wireless networking is a two-way connection. The only way you'll be able to fully utilize this card's power output is if you are connected to a high power access point or in ad hoc mode to another high power computer.
