This is a Sony FS775 p/h with the card stated above and linksys WRT54G. Initially it worked fine, but now I noticed that the 'Encryption Status = Disabled'
This is a secure connection (SSID not broadcasting). The laptop sees the router and attempts to acquire an IP address, but never succeeds. I've uninstalled and updated the driver. WZC service didn't help. Any suggestions?

Verify the router is still set up for WPA, While you are there change the WPA key. I recommend using GRC.com Random password key generators. I do not know if linksys supports all printable chr, or only alpa numeric. Copy the keys to a notepad and save for later use.

If you failed to change the default password it's possiable for the router to be hijacked. Change the password just incase, and use a mix of number and letters.

I recommend use the NB to do the setup. That way you can copy and paste the password into both the router and nb. Eliminates the error of typing. Delete the connection from MZC, then add a new location entering (paste) the password when prompted.
