I am unable to get my new E1705 to connect via wireless while my 1.5 yr old IBM T40 from work has a strong signal in exactly the same spot. What can I do to the Dell to make it connect and keep a signal?
On a related note, is there some kind of signal repeater or booster that I can use to extend the wireless range?

i use tin cans to boost range, it doesnt work that well but i dont have money lol. Also try to keep the posts to one forum. You put the exact same post on anothr thread in networking.

Try updating the wireless cards drivers, by going to the Intel site, and then look for downloads, and pick your card. Then download the latest drivers.

There are advanced property settings you can access through device manager; Advanced properties. You could also try and move your router to a better location or change channels. Other options would be a repeater, high gain (directional) antenna for your router, or an external antenna for your laptop.
E1705 wireless connectivity is VERY weak
