Hi guys, I am having problems to get my internet to work. My computer is a Toshiba Satellite c855-s5206 and it originally came with Win 7 on it. I did a memory partition and now I am dual booting XP and 7. The problem is that the internet only works on Win 7. I already tried to install several different Ethernet and Wifi drivers on my XP but none of them worked. Does anybody here knows how to fix that ?

    Thanks in advance

No it didn't, only on the Windows 7 partition. On Windows 7 I can connect, but on Win XP it can't find any connections

Was the notebook ever offered with XP?

If not, there may not be a compatible driver available.

Why are you trying to use an outdated OS with no support anyway?

No I had to install it manually. That's what I was afraid man, I don't think that I can find any compatible driver.

I am trying to play Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2, but I can't get it to work on Win 7. I already tried everything.

Thanks for the help, let me know if you can think of a solution...

I am considering getting an USB wireless adapter because they come with their own drivers, that might work... Then I can install STEAM and finally play the game

If you cant get XP to work, you could always install Linux and play steam from there. Steam actually has its own version of linux: SteamOS.
Your not limited to SteamOS though, you can install steam on pretty much any variant of Ubuntu.

You would be surprised at the amount of drivers linux has included. Generally most wifi chipsets plug and play with the exception of some broadcom hardware.

Alright man, I'm just gonna try a wireless USB first, and that will be my next step if the USB doesn't work.

    Appreciate your help
