Hi
i want to upgrade by standard wifi card to be able to get dual band.
Talked to the people at HP by they just gave me a list of card that are compatible with my laptop, none that i can see are dual band.
Has anybody done this , or know of a card that i can use.
Pavilion g6
Product A3B46EA#ABU
Model G6-1220SA
Wifi card Realtek RTL8188CE
any help would be much appreciated ,
before i have to go with a USB adapter .
Thanks

The first thing you should look at is whether the wireless adapter is whitelisted in the bios or not. HP used to do this, they still do, but not as much as before according to things I've heard. If there is no whitelist, you can go nuts with any generic adapter, if there is a whitelist, I'm afraid you're SOL.

I'm fairly certain that there is a whitelist in place. Finding a modded BIOS should not be that difficult, though, if one is up for flashing it...
Good luck. -
It may not have one of it is trinity apu, but if it is llano then definitely have whitelist.

Thanks for all the answers.
I'll keep looking but not sure about flashing the bios.
