    Hello all,

I have been having some problems with my Intel Wifi 5300 card. I wanted to update to the latest drivers, so I went to the Intel website and searched for them. Intel's website says that the file does not exist.

I am currently using the drivers from Dell's website (version 12.0.0.82), but for 32-bit Vista there is a more recent version on Intel's website (version 12.4.3.9). Does anyone know how I can get that version for 64-bit Vista?

    Thanks in advance!

EDIT -- apparently the file does not exist only for Vista Ultimate 64-bit. Weird. I'll install the driver for Vista Business 64-bit.

    Those drivers are identical.

Yes, I figured so. I installed them, and although the problems I had persist, the drivers seem to work just fine.

I am beginning to suspect the cable modem is the culprit here.

Randomly occurring dropouts. But whenever I get a dropout, other laptops nearby also have some hiccups, so the modem might be the problem.

I'm using the 64bit drivers from Intel's site and haven't had a problem with them as of yet.

Could it be network difficulties outside of your hardware?

All those possibilities are still possible. I merely wanted to put the latest drivers on my system, and Intel's website doesn't have them for Ultimate 64-bit and has them for Busines, Home Premium, etc 64-bit. It's plain weird.

I don't really think it matters as long as it's Vista 64bit.

There should be a selection that literally says, "Vista 64" or something of the like.
