I was just given one, and popped it into a usb port, slammed the install cd into the drive and started what I thought would be a simple isntallation. Well, the belkin utility isntalled fine, but for some reason, windows REFUSES to install the driver. Anyone ever hear of anything like this? I've been screwing with it for hours, and I'm ready to throw it out the window.

try unplugging the receiver and then plugging it in again. usually, drivers must be installed before plugging in any usb devices

I'm not a fool, I tried that. Normally when plugging in a usb device windows will prompt you to install drivers automatically or specify a disk. Well, it can't find the drivers automatically, and tells me that the driver on the disk isn't a driver.

Maybe the drivers are currupt, check windows (HCL) to see if it's compatiable hardware I use a belkin router and widonws couldn't set up my wireless network for me. Also try the website to see if they've the drivers.

Are you sure you have the right version of the drivers? I know an old Linksys card of mine had a completely different chipset in it than later versions of the same model

I tried the drivers from the disk that came with it, and I tried the drivers off of there site. The ones off there site won't even begin the installation, the ones off the disk install the belkin wireless utility, but at the point in which the setup asks me to plug in the device it doesn't even register that I have plugged it in, it doesn't install anything (like the drivers) and just goes to finish. Windows sees its there, and its even named properly in the device manager, but it just will not install the drivers from the disk.

Are you plugging in to 1.1 or 2.0 compliant USB. Some cards only work with 2.0

I have never found anything belkin made worth anything. It possiable the card is bad. Belkin is known for a high failure rate.

Ohh, I never even though of that. It IS a 2.0 card that I'm pluging into a 1.1, actually I have a KVM switch by belkin and it works AWESOME, but thats the only other belkin product I have (other than this thing). Once I get my other PC working I'll try it on there (that has 2.0).

I, too, have suddenly accquired the very same problem, only I've had it working for a couple of years and suddeny my pc seems to have "lost" the drivers and will not install them from any source. Did you ever fix it? Does anyone know how to fix it?
