    HI frens,

I realize that there were many versions of draft n routers.

Does anyone know which version of draft n was finally certified to full N...???

    1. I'm planning to buy linksys wrt400n.

Linksys in there website say it's "N" but i read in some reviews that it was draft n.

So can anyone tell me if this router is draft n or full N...??

    2. Also i have a Acer 5920 c2d 1.6/2gb/250gb with wireless 802.11 a/b/g/draft n

How do i come to know which version of draft n is my laptop...??

    Thanks

    It's draft N 2.0 certified only.
    Here is the certificate.
As for the card- you need to know the model number and look at manufacturerÂ’s website or at the website of wireless radio manufacturer (it may or may not be the same company)

Hi downloads... thanks for sharing the link to the certificate.... i appreicate your help.... however i had a few doubts.....

    1. If the Linksys wrt400n is only draft n 2.0 then how come it is allowed to display the abg/wifi/n cerfified logo...??? Aren't only products which are Total/Complete "N" allowed to display the abg/wifi/n certified logo... ?

    2. Is there a Total/Complete "N" Dual Band Simultaneous Router available..??

    3. How do i find out which draft n version my laptop wireless card is...?? when i turned my laptop on the back it reads this...

    Acer Aspire 5920-6914
Contains Transmitted Module Intel 4965 AGN series

Will this detail help in finding out which draft n version my wifi card inside my laptop...??

    Thanks

I think to answer your question, unless I'm mistaken, substitute the word revision, for draft. It might make more sense that way. Originally, it was a draft, and they still call it such, but Draft (revision) 2.0 was ratified. There is some interesting info and timeline here:

Is there a reason you are so concerned about it?

Well, I have the 4965 in my HDX, and it works fine on the 5Ghz band. Since virtually everything is "backwards compatible", you will be fine for the foreseeable future. If you are concerned about laptop cards, or it becomes an issue before you need a new laptop, you can upgrade fairly easily and cheaply to a newer card.

Did they finally finish drafting the "N" standard? So, when's the first draft of the "O" standard going to be issued, then? ;^)
