    Hi, like everytime I download a file, for example if it is out of 350mb, it will never finish, maybe get to like 100mb and it somehow stops and just says that "download complete" but its not. it gets frustrating when i leave my comp on to download 3gb+ files and the next morning finding out it says completed but actually not. Does anyone know what the problem is? Thanks!

    Wired downloading, or wireless downloading? Have you checked the event logs to see if anything got logged about the downloads?

    i tried it on both, my desktop and laptop and this happens.. desktop is wired, laptop is wifi

    It seems like either the site or the file you are downloading. You cant try a download management program.

    I get this too. I found that my router is at fault. What I think is happening is that the download stalls and 'tricks' the browser into believing the file has completely downloaded. What browser are you running? Try Firefox (if you haven't already).

    well my desktop uses firefox, wired, and my laptop uses internet explorer, wifi, so i guess i tried both and it happened =/

    I've had this issue as well. I'm using Vista 64-bit, Firefox, and a wireless connection. I've found that this issue largely depends on the site that you're downloading from. I have an extremely stable wireless connection from a great router and I'm always downloading things with no problem. But just the other day, I had to redownload these 3 files like 19 times because it kept finishing before it should have.

    It happens when the connection to the file server drops out. You will sometimes need to clear your cache because when you try download the file again, it finishes in like 1 second.

    In firefox, click tools then options.

    Under the Privacy tab, click settings next to Private data.

    Click the check mark for Cache and hit OK

    technically, a cache is a large stockpile of stuff that you use often. As the computer goes to pull data, rather than downloading it off the internet, it first looks for it in the "cache." It speeds things up.
