So you were using Verizon DSL, not Fios then, right? And isn't Cox a cable company?

Yeah I had DSL, and I think that Cox is DHCP and my modem/router supports DHCP so it should work right?

Although you're right, I think Cox is a cable provider which means my Router/Modem won't work...

I have that Modem and i'm sorry to say I don't think it'll work.

When I lived in RI, we had Internet/TV from Cox, and if I remember correctly Cox uses Cable Modems. Such as this one. <----- Take a look at the picture. You see the "Coax". That's what Cox uses; which is basically like a TV Cable connection.

The Actiontec Wireless Router/Modem is not a Cable Modem but ethernet/DSL instead. So I would like to think that you'd need to get an actual Cable Modem to use with Cox system.

Okay I have another question how do I use my ActionTec Modem/Router as only a wireless router, so I can connect it to my cable modem and have wireless internet?

Hmmm....good question. I had to research that one as I wasn't sure myself. And unfortunately, i'm sorry to say it can't. See below.

I know, that sucks big time. :(

PS: I've just been giving you bad news since i've posted; I must be the Grim Reaper? I must say though, I really like the Actiontec Modem, but I find it's just a couple features away from being near Perfect. My biggest gripe is the Firewall/Bandwidth Priority sections. I still like it though!

Ahh I understand I do have a Linksys WRT54G I can use a wireless router for it, I'll just have to get another one because I'm currently using it in Bridge Mode for my Xbox 360.
