If I purchase a Linksys Router that has Storage Link (i.e. a USB port) and load it with DD-WRT would I be able to use the USB port as a print server?

I would like to connect my USB printer to the network without having to buy a $50 USB print server and I was just wondering if this would work.

Is this sort of thing built in to the DD-WRT program?

    Thanks!
    Jeremy

The dd-wrt has a lot of extra code that can be loaded for you own needs. But it will get down to, do you have enough ram in the router to support it.

You need to check on their forum for that.

You're better off searching the DD-WRT forums.

If it's the 350N router then there's a custom V24RC5 with USB support now with built in SAMBA. That custom build has print server, USB Cam support and SMB.

You need a basic understanding of Linux to get some of these to work. The guy who made the build tried to automate everything but it's not perfect. If you don't have a basic understanding then read the thread for step by step instructions.
