    When I go to TMZ.com and click on "Comments" for a story there is about a 3-4 second lag for the comments to appear.

    I was curious if this is normal or if there is a problem with my connection.

    Is this the same for everyone?

    When clicking on the link, it might pause for 3-4 seconds and then drop down to the comments automatically.

    It's instantaneous for me. I would think it has something to do with the browser rather than the Internet connection itself.

    Are there adjustments to the browser I can make? I am using chrome.

    I thought the lag could be due to all the advertisements on the page.

    What is your average test result on speedtest.net?

    @Mobius 1

    mbps is not the same as MBps- the former is in mega bits.
    It's an average ADSL2+ connection.

    What? Seriously? LOL - I get about 44-50Mbps on my connection at home (work is only 20Mbps if you can believe that :D)

    As for the OP, try another browser and see. Maybe it's just a Chrome thing.

    I think you're mistaken... 50kb/s is dialup speed.

    Let's not be retarded he obviously meant 50KB/s which is not anywhere near dial-up speed.

    Mobius 1 - What internet speeds are you paying for? You could be paying for 50KB/s speeds. This is what happened to me when my father tried to switch to another cable service bundle to save $20 a month and the internet speeds were similar to yours; so we had to pay $20 more to increase the internet speed back to the way it was before. So, we ended up paying the same amount of money as the previous bundle.

    I have 20 Mbps down and 1.5 Mbps up by the way.

    Don't be a . That's exactly what he said, and even at 400 kbps that would be a slow DSL connection.
