    Hello,

I've recently installed a server box from work to allow access to a work network. It functions as the DHCP server (not that i know much about what that is). Therefore myself and the IT guy were modifying the settings in our dlink wireless router, to disable the dhcp function of the router.

When this is done, and we tried to access the dlink admin access, via the default IP address (different from the new servers IP address) we are automatically taken to a totally different page for (paessler) prtg traffic grapher. We were no longer able to access the admin settings of the dlink router.

Anyone have any ideas how to solve this problem. In the end we decided just to set up the router as we wanted, then disable DHCP. And then if we need to change the settings in the future we'll have to reset the router (again).

    Thanks in advance.

Is the server's DHCP handing out IP addresses in the same subnet as the D-link did?

Say the D-link's router's IP is 192.168.1.1. Your computer needs to have a 192.168.1.x address for it to talk to each other.

Can you tell us what the IP addresses are on all 3 devices?
    1. D-link
    2. DHCP Server
    3. Client computer.

All of them have to be on the same subnet.
