I recently noticed that for my Dlink DIR655 Router, I had the obsolete 1.03 firmware so I proceeded to upgrade it. However, after I updated it to 1.10 (the newest version), I can't connect to the internet anymore. When I go to the network status section, it says it's "Establishing (please wait...)". I leave it for the entire night and nothing happens. After a bit of experimenting, I realized I could only go as far as version 1.04 before this occurs. Both 1.05 and 1.10 have this problem. Does anyone have a clue what's causing this? Thanks

Check your settings...I always save mine to a file before changing the firmware, because it resets everything (at least I thought it did, it's been a while).

Power the router down then restart. Some firmware require a cold boot in order to load properly. If that does not work, do a reset, then reload your settings.

I use 1.05 with no problems.

I did have a few speedbumps at first...but I got over them. Actually thought I bricked the router at first. I think I remember it taking several reboots.

I'm running 1.10 without any problems, but I've read about quite a few people that are having problems with firmware > 1.04. If you haven't done so yet, register on the D-Link forums and check out the 655 board.

I already tried restoring it to factory default settings and powering it down, but this was of no avail. I suppose it's just a problem inherent in the later firmware. Oh well, I'm stuck with 1.04 then I guess

I updated my router and had no problems. There are instructions in how to update the firmware. It will reboot and will go back to factory settings. I believe you also have to cold reboot also to reset with the modem.. I have DSL.
