Hello was wondering if anyone can help before I bring my new router back.
I have a dell xps1210 with a Dell Wireless 1500 Draft 802.11n Dual-band card in it, and I just bought a Dlink Dir-625 Pre N router. I am aware this router is using a different chipset, and the dell mini card is using Broadcom chipset.

Anyhow I am able to connect and get 270mbps then it immediately drops to 135 and it stays there. Is it because of the incompatabilty in chipsets? I was wondering If I got the Netgear model with Intensifi if I would be able to hold a full 270mbs without any drop in speed.

    Thank you in advance

Sounds like It's droping out of MIMO?, or channel conflict. Since the 11n is draft all the mfg have a different requirment. Even with the same chip set. It just like the 11g now if you want 108 or 125. You have to buy the same brand as the router for it to work properly.

You may try setting it to 11n only if that is an option and see what happens. If it is seeing any 11b/g signals it is required to drop back, so it does not cause conflict. Use NetStumbler to scan your area.
