Guys I have the AEBS 5th gen connected to a billion 7800N. The AEBS is extended on the 5ghz band by another AEBS 5th gen and the 2.4 ghz is extended by a 2nd gen express.
Issue is if I transfer anything in my network (whether from PC/mac or a NAS) over a gb the network connection between the devices disconnects and the transfer never happens
I have my MTU at 1460
Drivers, FW are all updated for all devices in question
All devices have fixed IP's
PS (in order to run wemo devices on DHCP I had to enable the wifi on the 7800N with its own pool of ip well outside the range of the static IP assigned to the general network which is on the apple express and extremes)
Can you guys help please
Thanks

Please help -
Sounds like faulty/failing hardware. Start with process of elimination.

Well the routers are working as is my wifi with all other devices
The latest FW is flashed as are drivers for the wifi units
It's just a matter of transferring any file more than GB across the local network and the connection between the 2 units breaks -
One more time; "use process of elimination to find faulty hardware on your network".

Ok so I turned of individual routers to see if I could isolate the issue it seems to be occurring on all wifi routers (extreme and express)
I have changed the MTU on my 1103 killer and the speeds to download went up but the disconnection on transferring over a gig on my intranet fails -
Try different driver for your NIC.

anyone please...i am actually loosing files that i have copied and pasted to another drive, because once the download settles down, the "host" device disconnects and i loose the signal and the file gets interrupted, so the file never really transfers to the "receiving" device and it isn't there on the "host" either.

It's not a solution to the problem but use TeraCopy. It's free and far better than Windows copy/paste mechanism.
One thing that it will prevent is losing files the way it's happening to you- the original file will stay where it is until the new one has been verified to be on the other drive (CRC is being checked automatically). -
Well an update for those who might be following
After searching around the web, I decided to downgrade my AEBS 5th gen to 7.6.1 issue resolved for 98% of the files
To which I am more than enough grateful, thanks to all who chimed in
Disconnection on transferring more than 1Gb of data
