I'm a noob in making wireless connections and i hope i'm not the XX one who's asking this question.

Since a few months i have a new laptop (see specs in my sign). I have also a desktop pc who's connected to internet with a router. The router and modem i use are not wireless. Both my laptop and pc have a wireless network card too. Is it possible to connect my laptop directly to my pc so i can use internet on my laptop wireless? If it is possible could you refer to a good tutorial or could someone explain me how i have to set such a connection up?

    Thanks a lot!

If the router is not wireless, then u cannot use the laptop with wireless connection. The router is the only thing that can give off a connection to other computers, so just cuz ur desktop is connected to the internet and it has a wireless adapter, doesnt mean that it can give off a wireless connection.

That wireless adapter is used to connect to a wireless connection, not spread it around for others to use.

So unless u get a wireless router, then ur only way of going online on the laptop is thru a cable.

You're going to have to be a little more specific. What is it doing? Does any message appear?

I'm sorry i will tell what i did first:

At desktop: I choosed for PC to PC networking (in stead of All networks).

I made a connection name (SSID) called: Aloha whose contains an open networkverification and no WEP. My printscreen is in dutch sorry for that:

The problem is that available networks doesn't show all available networks.

That's OK. Everything is fine at the moment. The information at that link won't match exactly as the Windows wireless configuration was updated since that link was published but the idea behind it is still correct. Just proceed to the setting up of your client (laptop) and then enable Internet Connection sharing on your PC

On your laptop, go into that same wndow (wireless Networks tab) and just add it manually by clicking on the Add button, enter the SSID (aloha), Network Authentication can be set as Open, Data Encryption set as Disabled (I assume it's also disabled for now on the PC) and check the "This is a computer to computer (ad-hoc) network..." box
