Hey guys. Haven't posted here in a long time!

I'm downloading Lion right now and I have a 33GB W7 VM that I need to backup to my other laptop (doing a clean install...)

I can't go through my job's network because it's gonna hog too much (and too slow..)

I have a cat5 cable. I want to plug one side on my job's laptop and the other side on my MBP. When I do that, nothing happens in OS X except I loose my wireless internet access. On W7, it tries to scan the network but just ends up disabling it.

    Anyways to do that?

find a crossover cable and set static IP adresses since there is no router, get 2 regular cables and a switch and set statics, or hunt an old router and 2 patch cables
