Could anyone help me out, i tried and searched many different sites, followed their procedures but nothing worked. i will just give u guyies a quick recap of my scenario.

PC: Windows xp pro, want to move files like music, etc

Laptop: windows vista premium, the files must be copied to this system.

I only have a crossover cable, and both the hard drives are partitioned where the music is kept and also where it will be transferred to. Also i dont have a router, and i want to use programs like flashfxp or any other FTP program to do the transfers.

Hope this helps you guyies to understand my scenario

    Thanks a bunch guyies.

You could always use the windows sharing program that's included on windows. Just right-click the folder you want to share and go to, sharing and security, then type in the IP of the computer that's sharing the files from the other computer in IE. eg. "\\192.168.1.xxx"

For FTP, I suggest downloading Filezilla. Two downloads: one for client and one for server. Set the server's IP and connect to it with the client's from another computer.
