    Yup, your notebook's slot isnt a PCMCIA, its a ExpressCard slot.

    Btw, why did you get external WIFI card? Does your notebook have a built-in one?

    Well apparently my college's router doesnt reach my dorm, and thus it periodically cuts me off. So I assumed that the card would be better than the internal card I already have in addition to assuming that my notebook had a PCMCIA slot >.<

    And btw...thx for the checking if I was right

    Yeah I see, after I got my internal wifi card, I had a external wifi card, so I compare, and youre right, its does reach alittle bit farther.

    Try a USB and reflector. You can run up to about 30 feet of USB cable without too much hassle, so you can position the dongle for best reception. www.Freeantennas.com can show you how to add a reflector.
