Well, this is a well known error with hp/compaq laptops in using a mini pci card that is unsupported. I have a v2311us and i ran into that error when i tried to use a atheros ar5006x card. Well nevertheless, i went along and google how to fix it, and modified the bios to accept the new card. Once, i figured out how to do it its a relatively short procedure to do, and only takes around 5 minutes to do. It works perfectly now, a very unpractical way to change cards, is in standby switch cards. anyway, is it worth doing a write up on how to do this? would anyone be interested? Although the directions on google are pretty swell.

Perhaps in the HP/Compaq board. I don't think it's appropriate in the networking board. I'm sure other HP owners would appreciate a guide, especially if there are bits and pieces of information scattered over the 'net that you had to compile.
