I can search and "connect" to my ATT Uverse wireless network but a exclamation in a yellow triangle overlays the network icon, indicating no internet access. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both drivers, Dell 1505 WLAN card and the Broadcom port. I am running Windows 7. Do I need to replace the wireless card? I am very confused as to why a wired connection isn't working. What can I do here? I haven't used this laptop in a blue moon and I'm just trying to get it connected to the internet. I have no idea what to do. Please help.

What happens when you go to device manager? Does windows say the card is faulty for working just fine?

Yes, the status indicates a properly working device. Also, I re-checked for a driver update and both devices are current.

Than its a problem with the network itself. Go into internet tools, connections, lan setup near the bottom and make sure that the IP address is clicked as automatic.

Let me know after this please.

I'm not sure where to go. Is this in the control panel? Thanks for your help.

edit "Automatically detect settings" should be checked, correct? How about "Use automatic configuration script?"

Browser options are Chrome and Firefox. I checked that setting. Yellow triangle remains.

What happens when you double click the yellow triangle? It should bring up another window where Windows where will try to find the problem.

You may have to reset the modem and the computer, as restart it.

Nothing happens when I doubleclick the triangle. I restarted my comp. No dice. Limited access with no network access is what I'm still seeing.

Are you able to plug another computer into the same line and get it to work?

The router might have port authority on as well. Meaning an unknown machine can't access thru it.

Also try this, go to control panel, network and internet, networking and sharing. On the bottom you should see troubleshoot problems.

Thank you for your help but I'm going to have to resume this ordeal tomorrow. I have to get to bed. I'll try again then.
