All of a sudden I cannot access the Internet with this computer. I live in a remote area so I need to use a Verizon Hotspot and a NetgearN600 Wireless Dual Band USB Adapter WNDA3100. On this network I have a desktop running XP and right now it's operational. I'm not counting on it lasting much longer.
I installed an upgrade for the Intel network card in my Dell but that did not solve the problems which include "limited connectivity," "local [access?] only," no IP or DNS or gateway information. Also, my desktop runs very slowly most of the time. I've backed up data files on the XP machine and I'm running ESET antivirus software on both systems. I tried doing a system restore on the Dell but it gives me backup only for yesterday and today even though I had the system do them automatically. Before I go much further, I'm going to back up my data files on the Dell using my Passport. I don't know how to flash the bios for the Dell and I haven't found information about updating firmware on its components either.
Can anyone recommend a solution or solutions? Help, please!

Does the connection problem occur when you use wireless and wired connections? If the problem is only with wireless you may need to set up wireless again on the Netgear and confirm the settings on the Dell notebook.

Thank you, Josea. I stumbled across the correct settings for the Netgear and confirmed them on the Dell. All seems fine now.
