    Hey there,

I've been trying to connect my cell phone to my Studio XPS 1645 laptop for quite sometime now without any success. The laptop will not pick up any bluetooth devices, yet the cell phones have picked up the laptop. I've updated drivers, uninstalled/reinstalled, and even had the card replaced because I thought it was faulty; didn't work. I'm not sure what else to try. I'm not sure if it ever worked, I'm just getting around to using it now but the laptop is only a few months old. If anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance. I'm using the Windows 7 Ultimate operating system.

Is there any setting on the phone for visible/invisible to another device?
    You should set to visible.

I've did that several times, turned it on/off, and tried several different phones. Nothing works. Any idea why the phones pick up the laptop but not the other way around.

Not just turn bluetooth on and off,
usually there's setting called "Phone visibility" or something like that. Is it set to On/Yes ?
what phone model are you using ?

I've used two different phones and the phone visibility was turned on on both of them. One in an LG Xenon and one was a Samsung Mythic. Both of them came up visible on my older laptop.

I Bought this Bluetooth Card from Dell, Wireless 370 Bluetooth® 2.1 Mini-Card from Dell d/p# 430-3164. its BRAND NEW!!, anyway It fits in the WWAN slot even thought it considered a WPAN card. I have it in there and I soldered a old wifi antenna lead to the XPS 15's Wifi antenna. I then Downloaded the Driver from Dell for that Card. So when I go to install the driver it says "This driver is not for your system" !!!! -- So I looked up the Chipset on Broadcom's site and downloaded that driver. IT tries to install however It cant find the card?! So I went in the bios and made sure that the card slot was turned on and IT is. Did anyone ever use this card. IT's the only mPCI-e Bluetooth card I know of on the market. I can't take-up a USB port just for a little tiny adapter, i want it internal.

Is the bluetooth device in the device manager. If so can you trouble shoot it from there. Also do you have a bluetooth icon in the task bar. If you do right click and select bluetooth configuration then select accessibility and select let other bluetooth devices discover this computer. On my system the bluetooth comes on or off not only with the wifi hardware switch but there is also a software selection.
