After I reinstall the OS(XP). I have to install all the hardware drivers once again. However, i lost the disc that come with the computer. Fortunately, I found them on dell's website. This is where i got stuck, I am not sure which one is the driver for " Modem Device on High Definition audio bus". http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=ca&cs=cadhs1&l=en&s=dhs&ServiceTag=&SystemID=LATITUDE%20D620&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=The above site is the dell's download center. Can anyone tell which one should i get inorder to solve the problem. Thx.

Ahh, the ever popular Dell throws whatever crap they have on the shelf at the time of the build and then puts up 1,237 drivers on the website so now I have no freaking clue what driver to install question.

I love Dell, I really do.

On the bottom of the laptop you will find a service tag. Call Dell tech support or go to Dell.com and go to support and then log into an online chat.

Give them that number and they will pull up the original invoice and then give you a link to the driver.

On this particular laptop, you actually have a multifunction audio/modem card.

It may be just the sigmatel driver under AUDIO, but sometimes it is a two-phase install where you need to install the sigmatel and then the second.

You probably got sound out of the box with an xp install as Windows has built in drivers for that function, but they are not complete for all functions of that chipset.
