    Hi all,

Please help me with Dell Inspirion 5169 problem. The issue is receiving an internet connection wirelessly or using the Cat 5.

I have a Sony Vaio PCG-Z1AP Laptop and NevoSL Home theatre remote and both receive or detect my internet or Belkin MIMO wireless router.

Back to my Dell....When I view my "Wireless Network Connection Properties" and go to my "wireless tab" Preferred networks are "red lined" diagonally. When I try to view my "wireless networks" It takes me to a new page and "no wireless networks found in range" & "Make sure the wireless switch is turned on"

Lastly, I can use my Verizon CDMA wireless card on my Dell and I can receive an internet connection

Thank you in advance for any assistance!!!

(I am a newbie to anything that is electronics, so over explaining a solution is okay)

It could be that you have your internal wireless card turned off. On most systems, if you hit FN + F2 together, that will turn on your wireless card.

Also, make sure you have the current drivers.

    Southern Girl,

Per your earlier instructions I hit the "FN" & "F2" buttons and this resulted in activating my wireless connection.

In the "Choose a wirless network" It gets stuck trying to "acquire network address". I have a good signal.

I tried plugging directly from the wall and nothing happens. (not going thru my wireless router).

I would try going to support.dell.com and downloading the latest drivers for the dell card.
