I have a C640 with a LinkSys WPC54G wireless card that only works in the top slot - it is not even recognized as a new hardware device in the bottom slot. previously I had a trendnet card in the bottom and it worked so the slot isnt a problem.

I have noticed that a couple times I got an error that the IP Address was in use by another port (I guess the bottom, that is where the trendnet was) but I have uninstalled the TrendNet program... it seems either the laptop wont accept the LinkSys in the bottom slot for some reason, or else the bottom slot still thinks the trendnet is there and wont install a new hardware device there

BTW even tho the LinkSys works in the top slot I need it to work in the bottom, as I have another PCMCIA card that allows me to use USB 2.0 which because of its height must be in the top slot
